Bodemindicatorenset Landbouwgronden Nederland (BLN)

Bodemindicatoren voor Landbouwgronden in Nederland. A soil quality assessment framework for application in the Netherlands.

This R package can be used to calculate the BLN index for agricultural fields in the Netherlands. the BLN framework has been developed to evaluate the quality of soils in view of four ecosystem services the soil supplies, including crop production, carbon sequestration, nutrient efficiency and water quantity and quality. More information about this framework can be found in the publication of Ros et al., 2023

More information

The BLN has been developed by various soil experts, researchers and farm advisors, guided by researchers from Wageningen UR and the Nutrient Management Institute. The technical implementation in this R package is done by NMI.
